So much for writing every day…

OMG – I can’t believe that I could not even commit to writing here everyday.

I’ve got so many projects on my plates right now that some of them has been piling up in the to-do list like forever!

Here are some of the pending task:

  4. Mini library & hobby room project (sorting is half way through, but I may need to wait until April to purchase some new stuff to fully organized the room.
  5. Book family trip to Korea (almost complete)
  6. Finish painting.

My Debt-Free by 2018 Projects (D2018):

At the moment, I’m trying to finish up this book:

Do the Work 2

It’s a quick read, got it last Saturday and am already more than half way through. A good read to boost productivity and achieve something.

I honestly hope I can achieve at least 80% of what is targeted this year.

Can’t wait for my quiet week of March to come. For now, I have to log off for a meeting.

May Allah light my way and ease my journey.

Out and about…

This is a late and long post.

1st February : Hari Wilayah

I was so excited to spend yet another day at home after the weekend lazing around with darling husband when he told me that he had to work on that day. *crack* was the sound of my heart.

So I had to decide whether to continue the plan of lazing around solo or make the best of it by catching up with friends and potential business partners.

I’m glad I chose the latter, it was such a productive and happy day.

I spend the morning meeting a business mentor.

I’ve been looking forward to start earning extra income since a few years back.

Mr. Warrent Buffett famous quote below always linger at the back of my head…

Warren Buffet Quotes 2

10 years ago I started an online service doing Business and Performance Report write up to small enterprises, new entrepreneur and students. But as work demand increases, I stopped the business and focus on work.

I have been contemplating to join this new venture for quite a while because I’ve always liked the hard way of doing business rather than the networking way, but this new venture gave me the opportunity to do both plus if I work hard enough, I can earn passive income from the business in a few years.

To start with this new business, we must first learn how it works and whether it works for us.

To avoid being dragged into unwanted ventures, I decided that we meet on neutral ground – NU Sentral – Easy to access with loads of nice place to hang out and chat.

Nasi Lemak Kopi O at TOAST BOX to start the day

The session and the food was very enrinching 🙂 I see myself able to commit to it somehow.

After 3 hours session with the business mentor and feeling happier when the burden of doubt was lifted, I set off to meet my 2 good friends whom I’ve not met for a year!

One of them was laid off from work recently so we started talking about other business ventures and providing service based business to gather quick cash and contacts. I just need to find the right time to kick start this. Hopefully it can be achieve before the end of the month!

We had lunch at the Dolly Dim Sum since the Chinese New Year is just around the corner and we like to capture the spirit.

I regret not snapping the picture of the scrumptious dimsum we had. This is definitely a must visit again restaurant.

To burn up the loads of dimsum we had, we took a walk window shopping and actual shopping huhuhu… I just realize that when going out with this bunch, the tendency for me to spend and find new things I “need” to buy increase tremendously. We must definitely start our business plan to support this hobby!

To be continued…

Weekly reviews…

What is your personal Key Performance Index (KPI)?

I was updating my work project progress and looking into the checklist to make sure that I don’t missed out on my deliverable time (thank goodness for  when I realized that I did not set a personal KPI for my task at home.

Its no wonder I get stressed out sometimes when I see a pile of laundry or the trash has not been put up. OR that I have overspent my shopping money 3 weeks before the next payday! I put a side money for shopping, utilities, investments/savings and normal expenditure every month, but since I don’t track my activities closely, sometimes I might get overboard when it comes to shopping 😥 –

The worst part I would only realize this when it comes to the end of the month review, baru lah nak puasa & makan nasi bungkus huhuhu…

Planning to set up a GEMBA board to track my monthly activities especially on finance so that I can reach my goal of relieving myself from DEBT by 2017! I’m half way through but as I was reminded by my Ustazah today, the biggest challenge that Allah set upon us is not really poverty, but wealth. We tend to forget Allah and our goals when we have extra money huhuhu….

Currently I put my record in this planner given by Pusat Zakat Pulau Pinang which helps a bit. The only minus point is that I sometimes forget to open the book and record my expenditure in it at night. I seriously need a cure for laziness 😦

planner 2016

And instead of monthly reviews, I’ve put on a reminder and set my mind to conduct at least on weekly basis if not daily. Monthly reviews are only for big items.

May Allah grant me ease and strength!

“I have so many things to do!”

I rant to darling hubby almost every time I get back home and yet, everytime we reached home, all I want to do is just sit down and do nothing!

I totally salute the super working mom who managed to get up early to prepare for the day, perform at work and come back and prepare a proper meal for their family. So much energy and selflessness…makes me feel so envious!

Sometimes, I do get reminded of the reality of “if I do nothing, I will get nothing!” And this usually gets me pumped up again and miraculosly I managed to accomplish some of the task that I have put off for the whole week (or month – I’m such a procrastinator)

But the enlightment will usually dampened with tiredness!

I get so tired having to spend almost 3hours on the road to work every day (1 and 1/2 hours for each trip). I also get tired going through tones of data and taxing task at work.

That’s why I put off blogging for some time.

Looking forward, since we are blessed with so many long weekends ahead, lets take some time to rejuvenate both body and soul, and at the same time listing the task pending and setting a goal to accomplish 60% of it before mid February comes. Don’t be to hard on myself and let go of things that did not happen.

Energetic is what I hope to accomplish this year. To accomplish this, I’ve scheduled myself to join the Aquarobic class every Saturday, and hitting the gym on Wednesdays. I do hope this will serve as a self reminder not to use tiredness as an excuse to not being able to do the things that I need/want to do. It is so last year, I need to move forward!

May Allah grant me ease and strength!

Planning to write everyday onwards…

I wonder if this resolution can be achieve, but honestly it has been awhile since I last write my thoughts and record the happenings in life and this has made me feel like I did not achieve much in life lately.
